Writing an Abstract. The Composing Center. Clarion University, 2009.

Definition

An abstract summarizes, frequently within one paragraph of 300 terms or less, the most important components of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence which includes: 1) the general function of the analysis and also the research problem(s) you examined; 2) the fundamental design for the study; 3) major findings or trends discovered due to your analysis; and, 4) a short summary of one’s interpretations and conclusions.

Need for an abstract that is good

Sometimes your teacher will request you to add an abstract, or summary that is general of work, along with your research paper.
